Nipigon Blueberry Blast

This year’s Blueberry Blast Festival will be held between August 17-18th in the downtown core of Nipigon near the Paddle to the Sea Park.  The format this year is a street fair, so there will be no admission fee onto the grounds.

Saturday Aug 17th

9:00-noon: Hydro One Berry Picking bus leaves from Nipigon Legion for guided blueberry picking

9:00-11am: Blueberry pancake breakfast at the Legion – $8

Noon: Opening Ceremony, Drummer-Marilyn Netemegesic, Opening remarks

12:15-1:00pm: Eco Fashion show

Noon-5:00pm: Face Painting, Rotary smokie booth, food, craft and other vendors

1:00-1:45pm: “Anthony Andrews and Friends”

1:45pm: Attendance Draw

2:00-2:30: Zumba

2:30-3:30pm: “Jim n’ I”

3:30-5:00pm: “James Boraski and Momentary Evolution”

5:00pm: Attendance Draw

4:30-6:00pm: Spaghetti supper at Saint Mary’s Church – $12 for adults, $6 under 6

6:00-10:00pm: Edge Art Walk – self guided tour from 6-8pm culminating in a fundraiser “Bites and Brews” from 8-10pm at the Edge Arts Studio & Gallery

Sunday Aug 18th

9:00-4:00pm: La Luna Cafe open

Noon-5:00pm: Rotary smokie booth, crafting with kids

Noon-1:00pm: “James Boraski”

1:00-2:00pm: “Gibson, Martin and I”

2:00pm: Attendance draw.  Present gift certificates to school poster contest winners

2:00-3:00pm: Marin Wonderland’s Amazing Race magic show, plus balloon twisting

3:00-4:00pm: “John Fletcher & Friends”

4:00-5:00pm: “Straight up”

5:00pm: Final attendance draw
