Ouimet Canyon

Ouimet Canyon is 39.76 miles (64 km) north-east of Thunder Bay, Ontario, in the Town of Dorion, Ontario. The canyon is 1.86 miles (3 km) in length, 152 metres across, and has vertical cliffs that are 107 metres of breathtaking views. Discover the crossing of different ecosystems while out on a day adventure. This provincial park is not open for overnight camping but has spectacular trails for day use.

At Ouimet Canyon, you can discover a unique cross between the Boreal Forest and the colder climates that sustain Arctic plant life. Explore the bottom of the canyon to see this unique phenomenon. Hike along the trail and see stunning views of the canyon and gorge below. After hiking, stop in at the visitor centre and learn more about the canyon and the traditional story.
