Belle Chasse Outfitters
Belle Chasse is located in a rural part of Northern Ontario off of the most northern highway that passes through the province. Being in a place that is so remote and secluded, allows us the opportunity to see wildlife, that in most cases has never come into contact with a human before.
One of our greatest accomplishments is being able to watch our clients hopes and dreams come true. If someone is looking to tag a trophy Black Bear or hook a trophy Walleye, Trout, or Pike, we will do everything in our power to make that happen for you.
Black bear hunting isn’t merely a past time at Belle Chasse, it is a passion that is shared by the manager, the guides, and the owners. Year round, the staff studies the habits of the local black bear population in preparation for the up coming season.
Our main focus is having a successful season where each of our clients has a once in a lifetime hunting experience. In order to make this become a reality, we begin baiting our sites a minimum of 30 days prior to opening day of hunting season.
Belle Chasse has one of the largest black bear management areas in Northern Ontario, spanning a massive 171 square miles. This allows us to properly manage the population and harvest some of the largest black bear in our area each year. An average black bear weighs in around 200-250 pounds; however, it is not uncommon to see hunters harvest black bear weighing in at 350+ pounds at Belle Chasse.
Our all inclusive hunting package will include accommodations, meals, and an experienced Canadian guide that will show you to your stand, and prepare your bait to take with you each day.
We offer fishing from mid-May until late September and hunts mid-May through mid-June and mid-August through mid-September. Fishing here at Belle Chasse is some of the best in Northern Ontario. We have fishermen return year after year to hit the highly sought after McKay Lake and several other “honey holes” in the area.
The mighty McKay is known for its Lake Trout fishing. It’s said to be one of the best spots in North America, and Belle Chasse is located on that lake system. We also have an outpost camp on a large island in McKay Lake for those looking for a more remote experience.
Fishing for Northerns, walleye, perch, small mouth bass, and many other species, is great in the area. Our manager or a private guide can point you in the right direction so that you have the best fishing experience possible.
If you are a highly skilled angler or an inexperienced fisherman, the fishing is sure to please at Belle Chasse.
Our accommodations include six cabins that sleep between 2 and 6 people each, as well as a main lodge that has a living space and kitchen and dining room for our full-service guests. Our individual cabins each have a small kitchenette and a half bath. Showers are in individual rooms inside the main lodge. We also have an outpost camp on McKay Lake for the ones looking to truly “un-plug” during your stay.
