Dorion is home of the popular Dorion Birding Festival. Each May, birders from all over converge here to observe several species including blue herons and warblers. A major attraction in this area is the “Grand Canyon of the North”, Ouimet Canyon.
The Dorion Superior Picnic table is located on the water’s edge where you can enjoy a panoramic view of Lake Superior with your meal. Check out the interpretive information and take a stroll down the nature trail. Directions: The turnoff is 1 km west of The Grill Shack on Highway 11/17, follow the signs. The Lakehead Region Conservation Authority is the steward of this area. Please support them by paying the $5. parking fee.
Fresh cut fries and a scrumptious homemade burger crafted with local beef sourced from Dorion’s Wolf River Farms, served on a Bennett Bakery bun. The Grill Shack is open Thursday to Monday 12 -7pm closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Contact # 807-709-7565
