The Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area has installed two pairs of the Parks Canada Red Chairs in beautiful locations that allow you to connect with the lake, and enjoy the stunning views and landscapes at the Top of Lake Superior!

What are the Parks Canada Red Chairs?

The Parks Canada Red Chair Experience began two years ago when our friends at Gros Morne National Park installed 18 sets of chairs around their park to encourage visitors to venture out, find the red chairs, and take in the most unique and beautiful places within the park. Since then, the experience has been added to a number of National Parks, National Historic Sites, and National Marine Conservation Areas across Canada, including the Lake Superior NMCA!

The Parks Canada staff at the Lake Superior NMCA office chose two unique and breathtaking locations to place our red chairs. The sets are located on the Rossport Coastal Trail and on the Nipigon River Recreation Trail overlooking some of the most stunning scenery that we are so lucky to have on the North Shore of Lake Superior.

This summer we encourage you seek out our red chairs, slow down, and enjoy these special places that the Parks Canada staff has chosen for you!

And of course, don’t forget to take a photo at the red chairs and share your experience with us! Follow us on Facebook and Twitter and share your Red Chair Experience using the hashtags #ShareTheChair #TopOfLakeSuperior
