Beginner Ice Climbing

This event is open to all current TBay Section Members.

ALL Levels of Climbers are also welcome.

HOWEVER, being a “Beginner Event”, Leaders will be focused on assisting and instructing those NEW to ice climbing on techniques, safety, and necessary skills.  It would be expected that any non-Beginner-participants help those who are new to the sport at the beginning.

As with all our events, we strive to accommodate all who signup as best we can with our available resources.  Be sure to sign up early – especially if you need Club gear!

Boots and Crampons can be rented from Wilderness Supply in Thunder Bay.  For first time ice climbers, we strongly suggest you rent boots & crampons and have them fitted in the store prior to the Event.  For those who have ice climbed at least once and are experienced in fitting crampons to their boot, we have some Club crampons available to reserve on the Sign-Up Form.
