Hiking

Hiking or just going for a stroll are perfect ways to get as close as you can to nature’s wonders. Most of Northern Ontario’s Superior Country cities and towns have a series of parks, hiking trails and walking paths to enjoy a refreshing stroll or a more strenuous hike.

Try the scenic 8.2 km Nipigon River Recreation Trail, which connects Nipigon and Red Rock or challenge yourself along Pukaskwa National Park’s 60 km. Coastal Hiking Trail. The Casque Isles Hiking Trail is a 52.4 km route that runs from Terrace Bay, through Schreiber and into Rossport. It is part of a larger trail network known as the Voyageur Trail.  The trails are never crowded, making your hiking experience the perfect combination of exercise and “getting away from it all”.
