Tucked right next to the lake it’s named after, this course has been a treasured destination for generations. This course has been a treasured destination for generations. With its stunning views, thoughtful layout, and welcoming Northern Ontario atmosphere, it delivers everything you want in a great day on the greens.
A Course Rich in History
The course comes with a rich history. The front nine was designed in the 1930s by renowned Canadian golf architect Stanley Thompson. These original holes offer a classic golfing experience with tight fairways, gentle elevation changes, and natural contours that test your accuracy and focus. In 2000, the course expanded to a full 18 holes with a beautifully crafted back nine designed by Les Furber. However, the Furber Course is currently closed due to the development of a nearby mine project.
Golfers today enjoy the historic front nine and can still play a full 18-hole round by playing from different tees or looping through the Thompson Course twice. The current configuration still offers variety and playability, making it enjoyable for golfers of all levels
Full of Variety and Character
Kenogamisis delivers a well-crafted front nine that blends challenge, beauty, and variety. Fairways wind through tall pines and open up to sweeping views of Kenogamisis Lake, offering a rhythm that keeps players on their toes. Strategic bunkers, doglegs, and elevation changes reward thoughtful shot-making, while the layout invites both precision and power. Whether you’re threading a drive through tree-lined corridors or enjoying a wide, inviting approach, the course finds a way to stay engaging without ever feeling repetitive.
One standout is the fourth, where the green stays hidden until you’re within 150 yards, marked only by a distant “locator” tree—a test of trust and accuracy that sticks with you. The greens are subtly contoured, the transitions smooth, and each hole feels connected to the landscape around it. It’s a course that challenges you just enough and keeps things interesting from the first tee to the final putt.

The facilities complement the experience perfectly. There’s a driving range for warming up and a practice green where you can fine-tune your short game. Inside the clubhouse, you’ll find a well‑stocked pro shop staffed by knowledgeable locals who can help with everything from golf balls, gloves, and hats to rental clubs and tees.
