After twenty-five years of helping guide the local community AIDS organizations as their Executive Director, Michael Sobota is trying to be retired. He currently teaches workshops on advocacy and communication and how to write literary criticism. He writes reviews of books, local theatre, musical artists and groups. He builds a monthly column reviewing movies called "The Second Most Pleasurable Thing We Do In The Dark" for the arts & culture magazine, The Walleye. Having traveled the world and ballooned in three countries, Michael has visited all ten provinces but not The Territories. He lives in Thunder Bay where he enjoys dog walking and saunas, by choice.
