The Lookout Trail is a challenging and rewarding hike that offers stunning views of Lake Superior and the Pigeon River. The trail is 1.6 km (1 mi) one way and takes about one and a half hours to complete. It starts from the upper parking lot on Highway 593 and climbs up steep cliffs and rugged terrain.
Along the way, you can see the Middle Falls and the border between Ontario and Minnesota to Grand Portage State Park. On a clear day, you can even spot Michigan’s Isle Royale in the distance. This trail is an excellent way to experience the beauty of Pigeon River Provincial Park.
