The Joe Creek Nature Trail, located within Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, offers an accessible and scenic hiking experience. This trail runs alongside Joe Creek, allowing hikers to explore a variety of natural features, including cascading waterfalls, expansive flat rock formations, and distinctive vein-like channels carved into the rock, which guide water toward the shores of Lake Superior. Approximately one-third of the way along the trail, visitors encounter a notable waterfall, a highlight of the hike. Continuing to the trail’s end, hikers are greeted by a beaver dam, an example of the region’s diverse ecosystem. Though the trail is not considered overly challenging, hikers should be prepared to navigate some exposed tree roots and sections with moderate inclines.
