About Sawyer Bay Trail

Sawyer Bay Trail is a 5.7 km (11.4 km roundtrip) hike that winds through rolling hills, revealing the stunning beauty of Sawyer Bay on Lake Superior. The trail offers a moderate challenge, making it accessible to a wide range of hikers. As you walk the path, the landscape unfolds—ancient trees, wildlife, and the distant shimmer of the bay. For those seeking more adventure, the trail extends deeper into the backcountry or even up to the head of the Giant from Sawyer Bay. The journey begins at the South Kabeyun Trailhead parking lot.

Sleeping Giant Provincial Park features over 100 km (62 mi) of well-maintained trails, ranging from easy, family-friendly walks to challenging routes for experienced adventurers.
