The Sifting Lake Trail in Sleeping Giant Provincial Park is an easy out-and-back trail that leads through old-growth forests to the serene shores of Sifting Lake. Birdwatchers will have the chance to spot migrating birds. Dogs are welcome and can be off-leash here, making it a rare opportunity within the park. On all other trails in the park, pets must be kept on a leash that does not exceed 2 metres in length. The trail can be muddy and buggy, so bug spray is advisable.
Sleeping Giant Provincial Park features over 100 km (62 mi) of well-maintained trails, ranging from easy, family-friendly walks to challenging routes for experienced adventurers. Hikers can explore a variety of landscapes, including dense forests, rugged cliffs, serene lakeshores, and the iconic Sleeping Giant formation itself. Wildlife is abundant, with opportunities to spot deer, foxes, birds, and even the occasional moose. Many trails lead to panoramic viewpoints, providing breathtaking vistas of Lake Superior and the surrounding wilderness.
