About Cascades Conservation Trail Loop

The Cascades Conservation Trail Loop is a serene journey through Thunder Bay’s enchanting wilderness. This easy-rated loop is a haven for birdwatchers and hikers, offering a peaceful escape with the melodious backdrop of the Current River’s rapids. The trail is accessible from the top of Balsam Street, leading to the river where the orange trail meets the cascading waters. The loop continues downstream, connecting to the blue trail that completes the circuit. Open from March to October, it’s an ideal spot for a nature walk, with the added bonus of witnessing the vibrant autumnal transformation. Dogs are welcome on a leash, making it a perfect outing for the whole family.
