The Bluffs Loop

The Bluffs Loop in Thunder Bay is a trail that offers an easy yet rewarding hike. It’s a popular choice for birding, hiking, and mountain biking, providing a chance to enjoy solitude during quieter times. The trail is best visited from March through October and is dog-friendly, with leashes required. While the lower part of the trail is straightforward, the upper section presents a bedrock path with less clear directions. Despite limited views along the way, the start and end of the trail offer scenic vistas. The Bluffs Loop crosses over Current River to a lookout, continues to the top of the Bluffs cliff edge, and boasts views of Lake Superior and the Sleeping Giant.
