About Paddling Neebing

Just a 45-minute drive south of Thunder Bay, the Neebing coast on Lake Superior offers paddling opportunities for both day trippers and multi-day adventurers alike. Pristine, clear waters paired with a seemingly endless amount of small, sheltered islands make this area a sea kayaker’s paradise. Some of the larger islands have wilderness hiking trails that ascend to cliffs that reward you with world-class lookouts of Lake Superior and Thunder Bay. Pristine beaches and abandoned mine shafts can also be explored while island hopping.

Oliver Lake is located within the Municipality of Neebing. With its relatively small size, it is a much easier paddle than the big lake. Features include a west end public beach, and soaring cliffs to the east of the lake.
