Rainbow Falls Provincial Park is comprised of two non-contiguous parts covering 575 hectares (1,431 acres). The main park area is the Whitesand Lake Campground, while the secondary park area is the historic Rossport Campground. Whitesand Lake is a warm, calm inland body of water ideal for easy to intermediate level paddlers. There are two sandy beaches on the lake that are perfect for launching, swimming and relaxing. There are also a number of hiking trails to enjoy, including the Rainbow Falls Trail where visitors can observe multiple cascading waterfalls on the Hewitson River.
Lake Superior is accessed from the Rossport Campground. The water is cold, and the shoreline is rocky with cobblestone beaches. Paddling in this area is for expert level people only.
Amenities at both park areas include flush toilets, laundry facilities, picnic shelters, and a park store. Canoes are available for rent at Whitesand Campground, while kayaks and canoes are available to rent via outfitters at the Rossport Campground.
-This park is an access point for the Casque Isles Hiking Trail, a rugged 52 km wilderness trail that stretches from Rossport to Terrace Bay.
-Rainbow Falls Trail includes a boardwalk that hugs the Hewitson River.
-Events happen throughout the summer at the park, including the Discover Program run through July and August by park staff at park Exploration Stations.
