The village of Rossport, located within the Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area, is a launching point for half day, full day, and multi-day paddling adventures. The Rossport Harbour is widely known as one of the most sheltered archipelagos on Lake Superior, which makes it a playground for paddlers. Quarry Island, just a short paddle into the harbour, has a wilderness hiking trail that rewards you with an incredible view of the Rossport coast and village. For a longer journey, plan a trip to Battle Island, a public access island that has a working light house and basic amenities such as outhouses, a firepit, and some sites appropriate for tenting.
The village of Rossport and the adjacent Nicol Island, accessible by road, offer unique accommodations, gift and pottery shops, and a restaurant.
