Branch's Seine River Lodge

Branch’s Seine River Lodge is a popular destination for anglers, hunters, and outdoor enthusiasts, located on the shores of scenic Banning Lake in the heart of the Seine River Chain of Lakes near Atikokan, Ontario. This family-run lodge has welcomed guests since 1967, combining decades of experience with comfortable modern facilities that make it an excellent base for fishing, hunting, canoeing, and wilderness exploration.

The lodge sits on Banning Lake, which connects to four other lakes over more than 30 miles of water, offering anglers seamless access to a variety of fishing environments without leaving their boat. Guests can enjoy abundant smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike, lake trout, yellow perch, and crappie action, from structure-rich bays and islands to long weed edges and river channels. The Seine Chain is known for its world-class smallmouth bass fishing, while walleye and pike populations provide plenty of excitement throughout the season.

Cabins line the lakefront and are newly built or recently renovated. Each cabin includes a full kitchen, propane BBQ, full bathroom, satellite TV, air conditioning, wifi, and comfortable sleeping quarters, making it a welcoming retreat after a day on the water. Guests can choose self-catering housekeeping packages or opt for the American Plan, which includes home-cooked meals served in the lodge dining room.

The main lodge overlooks the lake with large windows and comfortable spaces to relax. Guests can enjoy a light menu, drinks from the onsite Quetico Brewing Company, browse the tackle shop for gear and bait, or relax with a book from the lending library.

Beyond fishing, the surrounding wilderness offers year-round adventure. Hunters come in spring and fall for black bear, moose, grouse, and small game. The lodge also serves as a starting point for canoe trips into nearby Quetico Provincial Park and the White Otter Wilderness, with canoe rentals and permits available. In winter, the region offers snowmobile trail riding, ice fishing, and cross-country skiing through quiet forests and snowy landscapes.
