About Cat Island Lodge

Cat Island Lodge is a full-service American Plan fly-in fishing lodge situated on Trout Lake in Northwestern Ontario. Established in 1964, it has provided guests with quality accommodations at affordable prices. The lodge features a main dining room, conference and game center, private cabins, a screened-in fish cleaning station, a sand beach, fire pits, and horseshoe pits. The dining room serves three home-cooked meals to make you feel right at home, and to complete the experience, shore lunches are prepared by our professional guides. The conference and game center offers a pool table, shuffleboard, card games, and a TV. The Trading Post provides soft drinks, sundries, confectionery items, souvenirs, and a selection of fishing tackle.

Trout Lake spans 99,950 acres and is home to walleye, northern pike, and lake trout. Fishing is productive throughout the season, with guides available to assist guests. Accommodation packages include round-trip airfare from the Cochenour water base, an 85-pound personal gear allowance, rustic cabins with modern amenities, all meals, and fishing equipment. Guided packages offer upgraded boats, professional guides, live bait, and cross-lake excursions.

Additional activities include canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, paddle boating, walking trails, and evening bonfires. Wireless internet and limited cell service are available in the lodge and deck areas. Cat Island Lodge operates from May to October, with year-round booking available. The float-plane base is located in Cochenour, Ontario, 337 km (210 miles) north of International Falls, MN, and 9.6 km (6 miles) east of Red Lake, Ontario.
