Take the 4 km Portage Loop urban walking trail.  Begin at Bridgeview Lookout, walk towards the bridge on the pedestrian pathway.  Follow the path under the bridge, and up the ramp.  Stay to the right, following the dirt road along the riverside.  Follow the old rail line to the Nipigon Lagoon/Marina.  Take the stairs up to Riverview St. and turn right to head downtown.  Turn right on Front St.  Cross the tracks and walk along the walking path along Railway St. back to the lookout.  (see map panel at lookout)

Nipigon River Recreation Trail

Bike or hike in and out of this 4 km return section of the Nipigon River Recreation Trail.  Head to the Nipigon Waterfront to the trailhead, turn around approximately 2 km in at the Rotary Club lookout on the causeway.  Alternatively you can hike the entire 10 km trail to Red Rock, however it is not a loop so you must arrange for a ride back to your vehicle after the hike.
