About Terrace Bay Beach

Terrace Bay Beach is an incredible gem where you can walk on the warm sand and admire the bright blue waters of Lake Superior. Terrace Bay Beach is one of those unique places where you stay the whole day, as there are many things to do, see, and experience on a beautiful sunny day. Along with it being just the right spot to lay out a blanket and relax in the summer sun, it also has a beach volleyball court open to anyone wanting to play the game. Then, the chilly water of Lake Superior welcomes you in with open arms so you can cool off.

Terrace Bay Beach is also a great place to take a walk. With a brand new boardwalk that spans the length of the beach, you can stroll among the sounds of crashing waves and under the warm sun. At the end of the boardwalk, you will find a short hike called the Red Chair Trail. It will take you through the northern woods and have you hop over roots shaded by luscious canopies. At its end, you will emerge onto a massive rock that overlooks the sight of Lake Superior melting into the skyline. Take a picture in the red chairs for the perfect memory! The beach is also an entry point for the Casque Isles Hiking Trail. The trails leads to a bridge over Lower Aguasabon Falls and up to Aguasabon Falls and Gorge.

If you prefer to explore the waters, an all-accessible kayak launch is located right next to the boat launch that provides a smooth entry to a paddling paradise on the exciting surface of Lake Superior. Terrace Bay has also become popular among Lake Superior surfers. The beach is your launching point onto Lake Superior, the caribou trodden archipelago of the Slate Islands Provincial Park, and the Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area.

Terrace Bay Beach, with its expansive sandy shore, sparkling Lake Superior water, walks, and exciting fun, is a destination that the whole family will enjoy for a lifetime.
