About Ouimet Canyon Lookouts

Ouimet Canyon lookouts are two observation platforms that offer stunning views of a 150-metre wide gorge and sheer cliffs that drop 100 metres straight down to the canyon floor. The lookouts are located in Ouimet Canyon Provincial Park, near Dorion. A 1 km loop trail and boardwalk connects the lookouts, which are accessible by a 9.2-kilometre gravel road. The lookouts are a great place to admire the natural beauty and the diversity of the region, as the canyon hosts arctic plants that are usually found 1,000 kilometres north. This is also a popular spot for birdwatching, as peregrine falcons can be seen soaring over the canyon. The Park is open May – October and is a day-use park with no camping available in the park. The picnic area located near the main parking lot and trailhead is perfect for extending your visit with a packed lunch. These lookouts are a must-visit attraction for nature lovers and photographers.
