About Thunder Bay Lookout

Thunder Bay Lookout is a scenic spot in Sleeping Giant Provincial Park. It is located on the northwest end of the Sibley Peninsula and a 1 km trail takes visitors to a viewing platform that overlooks the city of Thunder Bay and the Sleeping Giant. The platform is accessible by car or by bike, and is a great spot to watch the sunset or the northern lights. It features a boardwalk platform that extends over the edge of the cliff, giving a thrilling view of the bay and the Thunder Bay coastline from 450 feet above the water. On a clear day, you can see all the way to Michigan’s Isle Royale National Park across Lake Superior. This also marks the start of the Kabeyun Trail, the longest hiking trail in the park. The Thunder Bay Lookout is a place to experience the natural beauty and the adventure of the region.
