Cascade Falls, also known as Pijtawabik Palisades, is a stunning waterfall in Greenstone’s Orient Bay, is a natural spectacle standing at an impressive height of 40 meters (approximately 132 feet). Visible directly from Highway 11, it presents a powerful display of water plunging over the cliff’s edge, especially during the spring thaw when the flow is at its peak. In winter, the falls transform into a striking ice formation, attracting ice climbers with its up to 10 meters (about 33 feet) thick ice. The sheer force of the water descending creates a mesmerizing mist that dances in the sunlight, making this waterfall a year-round attraction for those seeking the beauty and power of nature in its purest form.
