Quality of life is important to the residents of Greenstone as it is for a visitor which is why Greenstone is unique as it offers 2 Cross Country Ski Clubs within a 30 km distance. It is just a short drive along Highway 11, from Geraldton to Longlac and you can ski 2 different trails. Ski rentals, day passes and a place to stay make it easy for you and your family to spend a day skiing the trails in Greenstone.

The Geraldton Nordic Ski Club trails are situated out at beautiful MacLeod Provincial Park. The Geraldton Nordic Ski Club has been in operation for 9 years. There is a total of 7.5kms, 5.1kms of which are both groomed for classic and skate skiing. With a few hills, straight stretches and corners, this trail system is for everyone to enjoy. If you are in the area and would like to ski but don’t have the equipment, there are rentals at Marino’s Hardware in downtown Geraldton.

The Longlac Cross Country Ski Club trail system is located on the north side of Highway 11. There are over 20 kms of groomed classic and skate skiing trails suitable for all ages and skill levels. There are several loops to choose from which provide a variety of trail lengths – short distance, perfect for before or after work, or long distance for those half or day-long adventures. The clubhouse is open from 8 am-6 pm daily with washrooms, wax table, kitchen facilities and lockers. There is even a wood burning stove to keep you warm.
