Rossport Marina is located in a deep-water harbour in one of the most protected areas on Lake Superior. It overlooks the scenic Rossport Islands, part of a huge archipelago within the Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area (LSNMCA). It has been described as the “Peggy’s Cove of the North”. Just a short 10-15 stroll from the marina through the Village of Rossport is the Rossport Coastal Trail, a short but challenging trail that rewards hikers with incredible panaroamic views of Lake Superior.
The area’s many safe havens include but are not limited to; Slate Islands, Kettle Rock, Lampton Cove, Lawrence Bay, Patterson Cove, Battle and the Quarry Island Inlet. Rossport Marina is also a jumping off point to a number of on-water points of interest, including the Gunilda shipwreck site, Slate Island Provincial Park, and Battle Island, which has walking trails, incredible views, basic amenities, and a working light station.
Rossport Marina is expected to be undergoing a number of improvements over the next several years, one of the most important developments being dock replacement. It is highly recommended that boaters contact the marina in advance to ensure slip availability.
