Ride the Giant
One of Ontario’s most famous natural wonders, the Sleeping Giant, is more than just an incredible view from Thunder Bay. The Ride the Giant Route, standing at 175 km (109 miles), will take you into the provincial park and down towards the historical Silver Islet General Store right on the Lake Superior Shore. The roads are long and windy, giving you the perfect Ride through the Northern Ontario wilderness – keep an eye out for deer, as the Sleeping Giant is notorious for these animals peaking through the bush line!
There is a beautiful beach to see and relax on in the Sleeping Giant Provincial Park. However, there are also a couple lookouts for you to see. The Thunder Bay Lookout, is on the way into the Sleeping Giant Provincial Park and is on a gravel road so be sure to keep that in mind while on this route. The other lookout is the Terry Fox Lookout, located right outside of Thunder Bay, and has one of the best views in the entire city of the Sleeping Giant.
