Route Details

Experience Level:

Cyclists should be comfortable riding with traffic. The route primarily follows low-volume residential roads and the paved shoulders of secondary roads and Mission Road, which is the main street through town. The boardwalk section is family friendly.

Tips:

While the town trail is just the beginning, consider exploring nearby Michipicoten. There, you’ll discover additional scenic lookouts, beaches along Lake Superior and the Michipicoten River, and several breathtaking waterfalls. Extend your stay by choosing from the many accommodations available and perhaps even expand the driving portion of your itinerary. Keep in mind that many businesses in Northern Ontario are family-owned, so calling ahead for any planned stops is a wise idea.

Start Location:

Park on the street at Dr. Rose’s Beach (17 Water St.). Alternatively, you can find parking at the Tourist Information Centre near the Wawa Goose (93 Mission Rd.). Starting and ending your ride at the beach is recommended.
